THE CRONIES

THE CRONIES

The Cronies are the newest committee at Gateway Lodge.

It all started when George Haston (Head Cronie) had the host duty one Saturday night during PER month.  And, as life sometimes throws us a curve, a family emergerncy called him away so his co-hosts that evening, Bill Hornbeck (Cronie #2 and Bob Kennedy (Cronie #1), went on without him.  Later, upon returning to the Lodge, George noticed that the Lodge marquee stated that the hosts for that evening were himself and "his cronies".

George thought to himself..."We have to do something with this".  And that, dear readers, is how the Cronies was formed.

Right from the start, the Cronies Committee was dedicated to raising money for Lodge charities.  And the Lodge Scholarship Fund was the first target.  On March 2nd, 2008, the Cronies held their first money-raising event by putting on a "Yankee Pot Roast Dinner" for the Lodge.  It was a huge success!  So good, in fact, that at the Committee Chairpersons' Banquet later in the month, the Cronies gave the Scholarship Fund a check for $1000.00!
