Gateway's Elkettes
This group has been part of the backbone of Gateway Lodge almost from its inception. Originally made up of wives of the Elk membership (which at the time was all male), this group was organized as a woman's auxiliary to the Lodge. The purpose of the group was, and still is, to render assistance to the Gateway Elks Lodge and to adopt its charities.

These days, even though women are now members of the Order in their own right (and many of the current Elkettes are members of the Lodge), the group still functions much as it always has. The women of the Elkettes are there to assist the Lodge in whatever event is taking place as well as initiating their own programs to raise thousands of dollars for the various Lodge and local charities.
Each year these energetic and hard-working women of the Lodge mount a gigantic Yard Sale in our park area, organize and run a Cake Walk at our Adult Picnic and assemble the most monumental Christmas Bazaar west of the Mississippi. They provide a competent work force to help with events around the Lodge and also create some of the most beautiful gift baskets as raffle items.

The Elkettes business meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm in the Lodge. Membership is open to all women of the Lodge as well as to all unmarried widows of Elks with a current Widow's card, regardless of the issuing Lodge. Dues are $10.00 per annum.
