2010 EXALTED RULER'S ROAST

2009 MEMBER'S TURKEY SHOOT
And then it was the member's turn to vvie for those crazy birds! Red tickets, blue tickets, salmon colored tickets...which one will be the lucky color and number? All of the money goes to membership, so it doesn't really matter. But it is always nice to walk out with a bird under your arm.
2009 WOMEN'S TURKEY SHOOT
It was ladies night for the first Turkey Shoot of the season. Some of our younger and more "buff" male officers and members donned Chippendale type outfits to "encourage" the ladies to buy more tickets. As usual, the crowd was enthusiastic, the turkeys plump and ready for the oven, the dinner great and the evening a big success!
2009 VETERANS PARTY
An afternoon of live music, dancing, food & drinks were provided by the Veterans Committee to honor our nation's veterans. Our own Gateway Showtime Revue players were joined by a group of talented entertainers from Vancouver Elks Lodge #823 to provide music & songs that were very appropriate to the occasion. Also present were the Young Marines of Vancouver, WA who depicted our soldiers in vignettes from WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the current conflicts. Their showpiece was a depiction of the flag raising at Mount Suribachi on Iwo Jima.
"So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them."
2009 CHARITY BALL
The theme of our annual Charity Ball this year was " A Holiday Masquerade". A formal evening with a fantastic dinner, lively music, masks, a silent auction and beautiful people all roilled up in an elegant setting. The proceeds of which help fund our Christmas Baskets next month in December.

2009 ENF FUNDRAISER DINNER-DANCE
Gateway members were treated to an evening of the most spectactular display of talent and showmanship that hasn't been seen in this Lodge in many years. The Fabulous Studio Band out of Porterville, CA transported us back to the 1940's with music of Glen Miller, Stan Kenton, Hoagy Carmichael, Jerry Herman and the like. Chef Eric and our kitchen staff prepared an excellant dinner which was served with precision and efficiency by the Boy Scouts of Troop #606. All proceeds from the evening went to the Elks National Foundation.

2009 COMMITTEE AWARDS BANQUET
Our annual banquet to thank all of the people on our various committees for all of the magnificent work they do throughout the year and to introduce our Elk of the Year and Officer of the Year. Also honored is our "Citizen of the Year", a member of the community, not necessarily an Elk, who has gone that extra mile to make our community a better place.
2009 EXALTED RULER ROAST
As he counts down the days before leaving office, our Exalted Ruler faces his last and greatest trial as ER...the ER Roast. Based on a directionally-challenged moment as Leading Knight, Russ was led on a journey through scenic Tillamook to Garibaldi for crabbing - to deliver hot dogs and beer at Seaside - to convention and dance a hula in Anaheim - and finally arrive as the Baby PER!
2009 ELKETTES' CHILI COOK-OFF
Ola compadres! Hot & Spicy Chili served up by various individuals and Lodge committees to tempt your taste buds with flavors from south of the border! This event brings out the best chili cookers and helps raise a considerable sum for the Elkettes' Charities.
2009 ELKETTES' DISABLED DANCE
The annual Elkettes' Disabled Dance was held Friday night and more than 150 or our local physically and mentally impaired friends dropped by to dance, share in a variety of sweets and soft drinks and to enjoy entertainment provided by the Lodge's "Showtime Revue". This event each year has a special place in the hearts of our members as we get to share in the wonderful spirit and joy of our special friends.
An evening out with your sweetheart is always special but it is even more so when you're out to a Sweethearts Ball at the Lodge. Chef Eric and the kitchen crew outdid themselves with a terrific meal and Ghostrider rocked the house with their fine music as always.
"All You Can Eat" Crab & Shrimp Feed
The Past Exalted Rulers annual "All You Can Eat" Crab & Shrimp Feed was a complete success again this year. They even served oyster shooters as a special extra! If you walked away from this one hungry...it was your own fault!
